TWO NEW MISSIONS

.

We have adopted Jim and Gennie Street, Missionaries in Hondurus,

to be the first official missionaries to be supported by the

Asbury Congregation.

 

Labor Ready

Twice a week we provice lunches for day laborers, a new a growing hand on ministy for our congregation.







Winter Projects       

        1. Thanksgiving and Christmas basket of food

        2. Christmas presents for folks

        3. 42 Degree ministry depending on the weather.


Ongoing Projects

  • One project is to provide sack lunches two days a week for the men and women who come to Labor Ready, a day labor referral. Presently,we provide 45 lunches for the clients every Tuesday and Thursday morning.  Lunches are prepared Monday evenings at 6:30 pm.
  • The Clothes Closet
  • Providing financial assistance as we are able.
  • Support of the Streets, a missionary family from our congregation serving in Honduras.
  • Special requests from UMCOR (United Methodist Commission on Relief) during catastrophic losses around the world.


VIM  (Volunteers in Mission)

        The goal of these projects is to assist other congregations in our country or overseas with a building project, teach VBS, or help with any other expressed need.  The Streets, our missionaries in Honduras, have expressed a need for work teams. Both a national and international VIM team is being researched.
